Abstract

In recent years, research activities in Industry 4.0 concept that comprises decentralized control systems by means of the Internet of Things architecture have been growing. The Cellular Transport System (CTS) is accepted as an example of a decentralized intralogistics system as well in the vision for the Industry 4.0 in intralogistics environment. Even though Industry 4.0 is accepted as one of the most frequently spoken issue in these days among both practitioners and academicians, the meanings of the term and its essential principles have been still unclear. In this study, the basic autonomous robots concept and an overview over Multi Shuttle Move (MSM) one of the existing technological solution within the scope of Industry 4.0 will be explained. Also, the CTS is established based on autonomous and decentralized thinking and composed of MSM transportation entities will be introduced.
