Abstract

A COMPARISON OF TURKEY AND ISRAEL'S EXPORT PERFORMANCE Abstract This study aimed to examine Turkey and Israel export performance and the exports of both countries was compared with data from Comtrade and WDI. Besides, a qualitative approach to export performance, exports of the countries were classified according to their technological intensities were compared. As a result, both countries’ total exports and the share of world trade the showing similarity up to the 2000 and then it is varied, the share of exports in GDP and in terms of exports per capita showed a better performance are among the findings during the period. In terms of technological intensity, Turkey's export structure has shifted from primary product towards low and medium technolgy, and Israel's export structure, without any changes in resource based product, has shifted from low-technology towards high-technology.
