The aim of this study is to examine the contents of mathematics textbook which were used in upperprimary stages in terms of compliance to technology. In order to get the required data, the contents of 5, 6, 7, 8
grade mathematics textbooks which were determined as course books for the following five years being valid
from their publication year by Ministry of National Education were analyzed. In the content analysis process, the
themes which were analyzed are the following; type of technology, the frequency of usage with regards to
learning domain and the purpose of technology use. The general findings showed that the most frequently used
technological teaching tool was a calculator and this tool was mostly used to support calculation skill. On the
other hand, it was found that the contents on the examined course books which provided opportunities for the use
of technology were notably limited. The number of activities and examples on course books should be increased
in order to benefit effectively from course books in the process of providing e-contents for FATIH project. This
study presented some recommendations for the researchers who will study on this subject.
